AUGUST 2011

Moving on up: EI's New Intergalactic Headquarters

As many of you know, earlier this year we purchased a new building and after some pretty major, pretty exciting renovations are complete, we will be moving into it at the end of the year.  It’s off Southside, near JTB and was once home to the American Headquarters of Lamborghini (we’re hoping they left some cars behind for us!) and most recently housed an auto loan company.

The new building is 60,000-square feet and our new NOC will be about 20,000 all on its own – the same size as our entire HQ building now! The entire facility will be state-of-the-art with on-site power generation, USP and redundant communications infrastructure. Perhaps best of all, the new facility will mean that the majority of our employees will be back under one roof – a great thing for teamwork and morale! EI’s future is bright and we are all very excited about serving our clients from our new intergalactic headquarters.

As we get settled in the new space, we’ll be hosting various events so you can all come check it out for yourselves. Stay tuned for more info.

EI Launches Private Cloud

imageEnterprise Integration (EI) has launched a private cloud offering to deliver software as a service (SaaS) to the Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA).  Like so many organizations, JHA was facing the challenge of aging end user assets, outdated versions of Microsoft Office and Windows XP.  The cost to upgrade and refresh was very expensive from a capital standpoint and they needed an innovative solution.  EI was quick to architect a private cloud offering which would deliver Citrix as a Service which includes Office 2010.

This solution will allow JHA to transition to thin client devices for many of their users and will extend the life of the current PC environment.  We targeted an aggressive rollout so all users would receive the benefit of the new solution very quickly and at close to the same time.  JHA was able to benefit from a very minimal capital outlay and they now have a fixed monthly subscription cost.

Organizations continue to require customized and innovative solutions in an effort to own less hardware, lower their capital costs and have flexibility to scale their environments as business needs dictate. EI continues to be a trusted partner in private cloud solutions. If this is something that could benefit your business, contact Mike Israel at 904-928-8197 or misrael@entint.com.

The Importance of a Business Continuity Plan

Business Continuity Planning is something that almost every organization has been forced to deal with, especially considering the hurricane season that is already upon us once again. But instead of rushing the implementation of a basic continuity plan, it is worthwhile to carefully consider your options and customize a plan to meet the specific needs of your business.

It is essential that organizations plan for the recovery of key business functions using priorities and timescales derived from assessed risks and accompanying data. Business Continuity Plans must cover perquisites for IT, data and voice communications as well as for essential personnel and offsite locations. In today's world, it is no longer sufficient for an organization to recover its technology and communications infrastructure; it must have people available and accommodations in which they can work.

EI provides years of experience, an expansive knowledge and success with many implementations to help create and apply a successful Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan for your company. We understand the importance of preparing and identifying your company’s unique attributes before a disaster occurs. A Business Continuity Plan is not a “one size fits all” plan, it truly needs to be tailored and modified to meet your business needs.

Contact Mike Israel at misrael@entint.com to learn more about preparing your business for unforeseen disasters.
